Not everyone has time to get to the gym, but there are a number of ways you can fit fitness into your day-to-day life where you’ll barely realize you’re reaping wellness benefits.

Volunteer to Help a Friend Move

For most of us, helping a friend move rates somewhere between going to the dentist, and doing your taxes, but the benefits here can far outweigh the costs. Squatting, lifting, and carrying heavy objects, if done carefully, can be a great workout. Just make sure you lift things slowly and engage the legs — not your back. If your friend is a decent human being, he or she will likely offer you a free lunch for your help. Just request something healthy!

Learn to Garden

If helping a friend move isn’t exactly your idea of a roaring good time, starting a garden is one of the most rewarding things you can do for exercise. Clearing a space and cultivating the earth is a great workout, and weeding barefoot in the garden every day can be a supplemental exercise for your workout routine. A flower garden will also add some great color to your yard or patio. The greatest benefit comes from vegetable gardening. All your hard work can be added into your next meal making it tasty and chock full of nutrients!

Downgrade your Transportation

If you rely on your car to get you around town, consider biking. You can set up a bike with a basket to allow for errand running or bag holding. Or, if biking isn’t realistic due to weather or timing, look into public transit options in your area. Studies show that people who commute to work on foot or by bus or train end up fitter and healthier than those who regularly drive.

Some days you just won’t have time to hit up the gym. But that’s okay! Try these sneaky ways of incorporating exercise into your routine and you’ll keep your body in optimal shape without the heavy duty sweat session.

@rolandfernandez276 You can wear toe socks with them. Injinji socks are what most places sell. But the KSOs tend to make my feet sweat. Classics on the other hand not so much usnels I am doing some extreme exercise and then just wearing them for a long amount of time but that happens with any shoe. The nice thing about these shoes though is you can wash them super easily and dry within an hour or two. I prefer the Classics over other VFF styles, but i do own KSO and Sprints that i enjoy greatly.
