Day 9: Taking a Day Off

by Daniel Dessinger » on Aug 25, 2009 1

diesel-shoeIt’s been 8 days. My feet feel a little blistery, so I’m taking a day off from my VFF Classics. I’m putting on my Diesel Leroys again. They’re flat soled and not very cushioned, but they feel luxurious in comparison. Of course, that means I’m not getting the workout or proper posture either.

I’m wondering how long it will take for my feet to toughen up to the point that I don’t notice walking on concrete any more.

I have been walking in my classics and sprints since May this year. My feet are starting to toughen up and I have changed they way I walk. I had to soak my feet in Epsom salt everyday for the first few weaks. Try walking on a treadmill at a slower pace to allow your feet to become used to them. If you stick to wearing VFF’s your feet will get used to walking on the sidewalk with out pain.

    Good luck and cheers.
