Choosing The Right Shoe For Your Workout

by Kat » on Jun 20, 2013 1

Fitness site, Greatist, recently put out a cool infographic illustrating the best types of footwear for different activities. Although we like to wear our Vibrams ALL the time, others sometimes feel that there is a time and a place for minimalist shoes.

From hiking, to biking, and everything in between – this graphic explains when it’s better to have a bit more support, and when going completely bare is just fine. They also touch on the importance of finding the right socks for different shoes and buying each pair at specialty stores to ensure the right fit for your foot.

Check out this infographic and let us know in the comments if you agree – or prefer to wear your Vibram FiveFingers for all occasions!

Great infographic, guys! As a runner, I’d just like to reiterate the importance of sock choice. I once made the mistake of buying new running socks (the kind that are supposed to disappear just below the ankle), and I ended up having to stop every 5 minutes to pull my socks out of my shoe, so make sure you choose the socks wisely!
