Vibram Drops Their Support for SOPA
Update: We’ve spoken with Vibram and they have told us that they do not, and never have, supported SOPA. Read the details here.
Last week it was discovered that Vibram was listed as one of the supporters of the “Stop Online Piracy Act”.
Today, the emails are rolling in (no doubt because of the holiday break) saying they are not supporting the bill.
According to the email:

We were indirectly linked to support of the SOPA bill through our connection with the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA). Upon further review we have requested that the OIA take us off the list of companies that support SOPA.
How true this is, I don’t know, as I’ve seen conflicting emails stating:

We have changed our position in regard to the current bill in congress and we do not support SOPA any longer.
You can read into those statements however you want. I’ve reached out to Vibram for clarification on their stance. Either way, huge win for the internet.
Thank you everyone who’s contacted Vibram in regards to this bill. Sincerely. Y’all are the ones who made the difference. But don’t stop there. Here’s the list of supporting companies again (now minus Vibram US and GoDaddy). Keep it up!
Awesome! Who is next on the list to push away from SOPA?
I’d go with the Outdoor Industry Association. Multiple birds, one stone.
