A Short Hiking Trip in FiveFingers

MyFiveFingers.com reader Stephanie Gavin submitted this short story:

Well, Friday my boss invited me to skip “work” and join him and the guys/gals from Bullhorn Marketing (A firm in Lexington, Kentucky) on a short hiking trip around some property he owns. Of course I said yes, and went home to get some jeans and my vibrams. The terrain was considerably more “uncharted” than my vibrams are used to, but I figured it would be a good test. Not only was I the only one to stay on my feet the entire time, but I didn’t even hesitate when it came time to cross the knee-deep river. Here are some pics of the trip.

To give you an idea of the property, it’s only accessible by four wheel drive and there are no trails to follow. Right now it’s a private fishing club and resort, but we’re in the process of building a canopy tour and zip line system.

My sprints performed exceptionally well :).

Great story. Yeah I wear my sprints all the time when hiking up mountains. I love having barely any fabric between me and the rocks and being able to feel everything. I use to wear the classics but with no strap they tend to fall off in the water. The sprints are pretty much the same as classics with a strap (and I think 1mm extra in the sole) which makes them perfect for everything.
